Q: How does the time limit parking on campus work?
A: The 2-hour time limit parking starts when the vehicle is first parked and continues for 2 hours from that point. For example, if a vehicle parks at 9:00 am then the 2 hour limit will expire at 11:00 am. The enforcement officers drive by the time limit spaces and enter the tag numbers of the vehicles with their tablet computers (this is the start time). Then they drive back through later in the day and re-enter the tag numbers. If a vehicle is still in a time-limit space, the computer would indicate it has been parked since 9:00 am. It has no way of knowing if it left and returned (or if it moved to another parking space, or to a different time-limit duration space). When parking in a 2-hour time-limit space, it’s 2 hours from the time the vehicle was initially parked there. The 30 minute and 1-hour time-limit parking work the same way.
