Citation Appeal Process
The parking citation appeal process is intended to provide an objective means to review a citation. There must be substantial and valid evidence that the parking violation was not committed or that it occurred due to circumstances that warrant an exception to the rules.
The following reasons are considered invalid as a basis for appeal:
-
Lack of knowledge of the regulations, for example, new to campus or have not reviewed regulations
-
Parking meter was only expired a few minutes
-
Only parked illegally for a short period of time
-
I didn't know my permit was expired
-
Someone other than OUHSC Parking Services gave permission to park
-
Late to class or appointment
-
Meeting ran longer than expected
1. Appeal a citation online
Citations must be paid before they can be appealed. This includes Parking Citations and Tobacco Use Citations. The dollar amount submitted with the appeal is a bond. The bond will be refunded if your appeal is approved. If your appeal is denied your citation is paid and no further payment is necessary.
IMPORTANT! Your appeal and payment MUST be received in the Parking Office within 10 days of issuance of the citation.
